"Encountered randomly, I was struck by the poise, generosity and amiability of this cab franc - a high level expression of what the grape can achieve in Niagara in an excellent year. 2020 was just such a year for cab merlot "Bordeaux" reds. The nose is lifted and complex with well woven raspberry/current, tobacco, cedar, fresh herbs, some iodine and minerality. All the classic markers for this variety. It is medium weight with pitch perfect acidity, 13% alcohol and fine tooth comb tannin. Effortless, seamless and showing excellent to outstanding length. At best now to 2027, should please longer as well. Tasted Sept 2024"
